This achievement can only serve to highlight and enforce the passion Gibraltarians feel for the beautiful game of football. Despite the fact that we are denied entry into UEFA, and the detrimental effects this has on football on the Rock, we still manage to produce the skill and talent to beat islands with a much larger population than Gibraltar and whose countries enjoy UEFA/FIFA membership. Despite being rejected by UEFA and continuous attempts by Spain to isolate us for political reasons, ironically, in this occasion, our flag flies proudly above all the rest.
