-- UEFA News - 17/10/2006
-- On the 6th July 2006 the Court of Arbitration for Sport finally issued its Award in the case brought by the Association against UEFA. The Court ordered:-
-- 1. The Executive Committee of UEFA to admit the GFA to provisional membership at its next meeting;
-- 2. The Executive Committee of UEFA to put the question of the GFA’s application for full membership of UEFA before the UEFA Congress in January 2007; and
-- 3. The issue of damages and legal costs to be considered at a further award.
-- The Association is disappointed to note that the Executive Committee of UEFA has broken this binding order by not admitting the GFA to provisional membership at either its meetings in July or October 2006.
-- The Association is further disappointed to note that at its meeting of the 4/5 October 2006 the Executive Committee in breach of the binding Court order decided to take into account the contents of a political report submitted by the Spanish Football Association President a few days before.
-- WEBSITE
-- The new website of the Association which has been launched is the work of a number of individuals who have worked tirelessly to launch what we are sure we will all agree, is a huge improvement on the former site. Whilst there is still some updating work to be done, we are sure that the finished product will be welcomed by all. Suggestions as to how the site can be improved are always welcome.
