Three new girls’ teams will be taking part in the GFA Youth League next season as female football continues to grow on the Rock. Teams will be entered into the U6, U7 and U9 leagues.

Many of the players in the teams come from the Fun Friday and Sunday girls’ sessions that have been growing throughout the season and the new teams will offer the girls an opportunity to take their football to the next level.

Gibraltar FA Women’s Football Manager, Laura McGinn said “The new teams are a great opportunity for girls to gain more experience playing football. The players that have been attending the Fun Friday and Sunday sessions are really keen and it’s great that we’re able to keep them together in teams and encourage new girls to come and get involved as well”

There are still spaces in all three teams for any girls who are interested in playing football and no experience is necessary to join. For more information contact Laura McGinn, Women’s Football Manager laura.mcginn@gibraltarfa.com.
